- Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2018The beginning of JL Dark; when magic is on the verge of collapse, which is affecting all magic users, who will step up to make it right? Well...there's Wonder Woman but the magic community is rather secretive about what goes on.
It's actually good to see how magic users see superheroes; they respect them but they know that there is more to "good and evil" and a bitter shade of gray.
Will Wonder Woman be able to fill her ranks and find the root cause of the deterioration of magic?
Good start!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2018Wonder Woman seeks to gather a team that can handle the magical imbalance now plaguing the planet. Man-Bat, Zatanna, and Swamp Thing join her in this debut issue. Story and art both excellent. Looking forward to the next issue and will definitely add the trade to collection when available.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 26, 2018Ok so the DC hardcore fanboys are going to be up in arms over my review, but they are oblivious to what is going on in the world around them. Honestly if this was the first time I'd read this story I'd love it. The art is great and the writing is pretty good. The problem is I just read this story line over the past two years with marvel's Dr. Strange by Jason Aaron. The premise here is eerily similar. The last days of magic.....every spell has a price and the bill has come due....a force from the great beyond is coming into our dimension ect ect. This is the exact same story Aaron told. The difference is Aaron had a much better mystical cast to choose from. Dr. Strange, Loki, Thor, Scarlett Witch, Wong, and Zelma are the best sorcerers in comics. The only strong characters in this story from DC are Wonder Woman and Zatanna. The rest are utterly useless. We'll see how this plays out. After reading issue #2 I've already come to the conclusion that this is blatant plagiarism of Aaron and marvel's work. How does this get by the editors?
