About the author
Martin Dunn was born in Winchester, Kentucky and grew up in Dade City, Florida. Art, Skating and Music have played a significant role for the majority of his adult life.
Currently, co-owner and founder of 'Con Artist Entertainment', an independent comic studio located in Tampa, Florida. Martin hosted the #DeathToFanboys podcast on the CAE Network, alongside Shawn Talley, Derrick Fish and Luis Matos for over 100 episodes. The show went off the air in July, as the CAE Network shut down and merged with the CAE Media channel on Youtube.
Martin was heavily influenced by skateboarders, Jay Adams, Christian Hosai, Tony Hawk, and Tony Alba in middle school. His love of skating never went anywhere past parks, and abandoned pools, however he did compete in several small tournaments. His love of skating, and several run ins with the law over skating in public, inspired him, along with several others to petition, and have a skate park opened in his hometown of Dade City, Florida.
In music, Martin drew inspiration from Punk, Grunge, and Hip hop talents. He has played guitar and sung in several punk bands, and went on to become a hip hop producer and performer, he has worked with the likes of Roc Vega, Greg Peso, Big Mo, Charly Bean, Rob Sway, Pall Wall, Juelz Santana, UGK, and Twista. In 2010, Martin left music to pursue a new artistic outlet: graphic literature and comic art.
In comics, his book 'Joshua Black' has gained a steady following. With a steady stream of great reviews, the book has the accolade of a successful Kickstarter, as well as spurring a spin off anthology series, written by some of Independent Comics brightest and best.
Martin has done work for IDW Publishing's "Star Mage", Creature Entertainment's "The Zombie Years", and a number of other indie comic projects.
His current projects, in addition to Joshua Black, include "White Chapel″ with JC De La Torre of IDW Publishing, "Project:Overwatch ", with artist Javier Lugo, Which also has been backed by a successful Kickstarter, "Fetch", an epic adventure story co-written by his 7 year old daughter, Evie, and his first novel "Wrong Way", a modern day Punk Rock Bonnie and Clyde story, co-written by Ashley Olien.
Martin lives in Plant City, Florida with his 4 children (Alex, Trinity, Brooklyn, and Evangeline), 6 Dogs, and a commune of family and friends. He enjoys all styles of music, pro wrestling, skateboarding and collecting Miracleman related items.
