About the author

Simon "Si" Spurrier writes novels and comics.
His work in the latter field stretches from award winning creator-owned books such as 'The Spire', 'Coda' and 'Angelic' to projects in the U.S. mainstream like 'Hellblazer', 'The Dreaming' and 'X-Men'. He and his works have been nominated for Eisner Awards multiple times.
His prose works range from the beatnik neurosis-noir of 'Contract' ("A tour de force" - The Times) to the occult whodunnit 'A Serpent Uncoiled' ("Gargantuan literary flourishes" - The Truth About Books). His experimental e-novella 'Unusual Concentrations' was shortlisted for the Shirley Jackson Awards.
He lives in Margate, UK.

5.0 out of 5 stars Probably my favorite limited series in last 5 years, at least! (vol. 2 of 3)
Not going to spoil anything, but this story -- spread over three volumes -- is rdiculously engaging from first to last page. Wonderful worldbuilding, delectable dialogue, and every character no matter how big or small their role in this tale is as unique and captivating as they can come.
AND THE ART!!!!!!! Absolutely gorgeous, from panel to panel -- rich in detail and awash with colourful vibrance!
A very original fantasy tale that I have already read at least a half-dozen times.
A MUST-READ.

5.0 out of 5 stars A turn of events
Bergara's art keeps being amazing, and in this second volume the story takes an unexpected turn which leaves you that unpleasant, shocking sensation of any well written plot. Can't wait for volume 3, one of the best series I've ever read!

3.0 out of 5 stars I want to like this so much more...
I want to like this so much more because I feel there’s some real potential but it just isn’t shining through for me during my first read through of the series. I love the art and colours and was trusting vol2 would be a little more ramped up compared to the first volume but it more or less felt the same to me. A lot of talking about things that don’t feel at all relevant to what little story there is, not much in the way of character development, doesn’t feel like much of anything really happens. I absolutely love the “serious” moments between Hum and his wife though because that actually appeals to me. That being said, vol2 did leave off on an unexpected note so I’m eager to dig into vol3 and see how things wrap up.
